Introduction
About Me:
I am a Certified Kids Life Coach who has child psychology experience.
My practice has a preventative approach. Many families and schools don’t teach these skills, and children navigate through life the hard way when handling the ups and downs of it. Perhaps, when we think about socio-emotional needs, we believe it is only for kids who experience behavioral issues or face challenging situations. But, I believe Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and Resilience should be at the core of every child’s education because these abilities are as critical as intellectual and academic skills to succeed in life. Therefore, my mission for every kid from any background is to help them overcome a specific situation or integrate life skills into their daily life to maintain good mental and physical health, have solid self-esteem, foster meaningful relationships, reach their full potential, and meet success in becoming the person they want to be in their life.
Why Kids Life Coaching?:
I have worked with children from different cultures, backgrounds, and settings (Psychology, Education, Life Coaching and Child Care). In this diversity, I identified two common points: most of the time, kids are taken to a child professional when facing challenging situations or showing behavioral issues, and little attention is given to developing socio-affective skills both in the family and at school.
I asked myself, “What would be the benefits of practicing this set of skills in children from a young age? How can I be an active and empowering contributor to improving children’s and family lives?”
Kids Life Coaching was the correct answer for me! Because of the following reasons:
– It focuses on prevention and the present, and it doesn’t fall for children’s negative labels; instead, it sees kids as naturally resourceful and able to improve their life situation.
– The Kids Life Coaches are facilitators or guides. We don’t try to fix kids or mend their conditions.
– It is supported by theories and methods from different disciplines that are scientifically approved (Positive Psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Social Psychology, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Emotional Intelligence, and Life Coaching).
– It offers practical tools and resources that children can use independently, developing long-lasting skills to facilitate their well-being and healthier interaction with others.
– It focuses on empowering and creating change by setting and achieving goals.
– It can be applied to various settings: family, school, community, and private centers. The sessions can be individually or in a group.
